  • Personal Injury Protection (PIP): not required
  • Uninsured motorist: not required
  • Minimum liability limits: 25/50/25
    • Coverage up to $50,000 for all persons injured in an accident, subject to a limit of $25,000 for one individual, and $25,000 coverage for property damage.

This liability coverage will protect you if you are responsible for an accident in which a third party suffers injuries or property damage. In most cases, the coverage is sufficient, but if you are involved in a serious accident with several injuries or fatalities, you may find yourself responsible for large payments that go beyond the coverage offered by your policy. You can protect yourself from such a circumstance by purchasing liability coverage with higher limits, or through an umbrella insurance policy.

Other optional coverage includes collision and medical payment insurance, which will provide compensation for damages to your vehicle and injuries to you and your passengers if you are responsible for a collision.
